An overview of Prezi

The word “Prezi” is the short form of “Presentation” in Hungarian language. Prezi is a new online presentation tool for creating unique and professional presentations with a capability to organize and share ideas. It was basically created in order to replace the ordinary slide based presentations.
Prezi allows you to create more of a canvas presentation instead of a conventional slide presentation, like a Powerpoint presentation etc. You can utilize text, pictures, videos and other presentation objects to make your presentation more comprehensive.
Prezi can be accessed from anywhere and anytime. As it stores your presentations in the cloud, you can present from your browser, desktop, iPad, or iPhone and always have the latest version of your work at your fingertips. Create or edit on the go, then auto-sync across all your devices. Presentation can be created online and then you can download the final version so that you do not need to have internet access later to display the presentation.
Prezi employs a special feature, i.e., Zooming User Interface (ZUI), which allows you to zoom in to focus on details or zoom out to see the whole picture of your presentation media. Prezi is changing the way how presentations are navigated, from a more step by step approach to a broader and nonlinear approach with little boundaries.
Consisting of a wide variety of different tools makes Prezi a smart choice to create just about any type of effective presentation, i.e., a great way for teachers to enhance their instructions, a great tool for students to use to present on about any topic or subject, can also be a fun way to share information about yourself.

Teachers and students can avail discounts provided by Prezi (prezi.com) for obtaining a license, by signing up with a school email address.  Prezi also has a Powerpoint Import feature which helps you to bring all your existing Powerpoint work in Prezi. Prezi is compatible with almost every famous web browser available today, as it is developed in Adobe Flash, Adobe AIR and built on top of Diango.
