WordPress vs BlogSpot - Which is better for blogging and why?

Among many blogging platforms the two that stand out are Blogger and WordPress. One of the main reasons for this is that both are free and offer a lot of features. But then one faces the dilemma of choosing between the two.
Blogger is owned by google and one of the major advantages of using blogger is that you can set it up in less than 10 minutes and start posting. Furthermore, it is very easy to maintain and you can easily switch between templates and designs. You blog web address will have “.blogspot.in” in front of it, but you can opt to have your own domain name for $10 a year and you don’t have to pay any hosting fees. You can also use gadgets offered by google like news, videos, currency convertor and more. The location of these gadgets is fully customizable and you also have the option to add customized gadgets using the code of the gadget.
Apart from its numerous advantages using blogger also has some disadvantages, like using templates makes all blogs look the same and your blog will not stand out. Another disadvantage is that your blog is owned by google and any violation can lead to deletion of your whole blog.
When it comes to WordPress it is also free to use and it has far more customizing options. There are two versions of WordPress, wordpress.com and wordpress.org. Wordpress.org is the paid version and offers much more options. The downside of WordPress is that it only gives basic functionality options in its free blogging site and encourages user to switch to its paid platform.

For casual bloggers blogger.com is a better choice but for businesses WordPress is the better option and with WordPress you own the website and unlike blogger no one can just delete your whole website.
